Kimi Antonelli had a chance to take his first F1 victory. Starting from pole position is certainly easier. The Italian was also fortunate, missing rivals like reigning world champion Lando Norris and Lando's teammate Oscar Piastri. Always a formidable rival, Max Verstappen, was left at the back of the grid and struggled with mechanical issues throughout the race. Kimi faced only three competitive rivals throughout the race: his teammate George Russell, Charles Leclerc, and Lewis Hamilton. The latter two were only important in the opening laps, as the Ferraris were excellent at the start, but they gradually lost their race pace. The young Italian was quicker to overtake the Ferrari drivers than his teammate and escaped the rest of the grid, securing a lead of a few seconds over his rivals. Kimi drove a brilliant race, controlling what was happening behind him and took his first victory in F1.
